News From the Pit
Hey Everybody! I hope you had a great Derby! Mine sucked balls. Rain destroyed my Derby plans again , and I was soooo ready to go to the infield to meet my friends! So I just sat at home by myself all weekend and slept. Lame! It was the deadest D erby in memory. It was desolate here on 5 th street! Crazy. The following week, however, was super busy, with three back to back shows: Rob Zombie, In This Moment and Tool. You could say I saved up my energy for three days of nonstop music!
And of course, Mastodon at the Iroquois Ampitheater was badass! A doom metal feast of monstrous proportion! I love outdoor shows. Especially heavy outdoor shows! Wow, what a great time. At every show I went to! At Tool, I was the first photographer into the photo pit (front center stage) and what I saw was awesome. I alone faced down 20,000 people at the Yum Center. I saw pretty much what the band saw. It was a view, lemme tell ya! I had a few dates with a few cuties at these shows, and they were actually good dates! They were not on meth, so that's a good thing, and they were nice and fun. We had a blast! I did have a Tw ilight Z one moment going as I saw my cheating ex-girlfriend (the one who f**ked me over bad several months back) at one of the shows, and I gotta tell you, it felt pretty darn good having her see me with another female much cuter than her. Karma is a MF. Oh well, most of the time in life things don't work out. That's when you buckle up and prepare for that bumpy-ass ride called LIFE. Most of the time you don't get what you want. My ride so far hasn't been so bad at all. I feel I have already lived two full lives. I have memories that you wouldn't believe. Literally! I may be getting ready to turn 50 this December 25, but I've aged well, and I still feel young at heart, and feel I have a great deal left to do before I'm done. I'm gonna do what I always do. Act a fool and have a lil' fun. Who knows, perhaps I have a few more tricks up my sleeve.
Hey, at least I still somewhat have it when it comes to meeting the ladies, for an ancient dude like muah. It's been pretty darn good. I am turning down offers! Some flattering moments, indeed . However, I am in no rush whatsoever, I am having a blast and have been very happy lately.
I got my Challenger back with brand-new racing stripes/spoiler/paint and I'm in hotrod heaven. It's soooo oldschool pimpin' now. I absolutely love it. Good things tend to happen to good people. Never forget that. Ever since I adopted this NO DRAMA attitude, life has been better, hands down. Don't put up with stressful lowlife idiots with no morals! It's simple.
Yeah, sometimes it's hard to let go of people you love/care about, but sometimes it's necessary to do this to preserve your happiness and piece of mind.
Delete the MF'ers from your life. Doctor's orders.
I've been working very hard lately on mandatory overtime, and with all these shows and two band practices a week, and my column, I have been one busy musical bastard. I would have attended more shows if I had the energy. I'm sorry I'm an old, tired guy. I'm still losing weight like a MF though. I can fit into size 34 pants now! I used to wear 42's! I was el tubbo. I've been taking this incredible new expensive fat burner and it works veery well. I'm feeling freaking great! And a lot of my fat has turned into muscle. I pity the foo who messes with Sir Edward Metal these days.
Summer is in full swing and it's time for fun, Jeeping, concerts and vacations.
I still don't know what the hell I'm gonna do for vacation this year, it's still up in the air. Maybe I'll just go back to Gulf Shores for some peace and quiet. I love it there.
I will be playing out this summer in both bands, so that's good! I hope to see you all at Krosjoint's debut at the 21st Amendment Tavern on July 6. This show has been a long time coming, and we will be bringing the southern heavy metal heat. Come see me play you mofo's! It's been three years since you've seen me play the heavy stuff. I'm gonna f**king destroy! It's been a slow year so far musically for me, but I don't mind slowing down a little at my age. I don't mind the playing part, but the packing/loading/unloading of heavy– ass music gear is a pain in the arse. My amp is taller than me, and I'm 6 foot 1 inch! It's a back folder!
No pain, no gain! I'm just stoked to unleash the monster that is Krosjoint. Some of my finest guitarwork. I haven't played much this year, but I'm ready!
It's like a dude who has a new girlfriend he's dated awhile, but hasn't ever slept with her, but when he finally does get that highly anticipated hot lovin, he blows her head clean off! That's a lot of penned up energy. Aye, aye, ayeeee!
I'm that dude. I'm gonna blow your heads off with my guitar/manliness.
I'll last two seconds.

Special Thanks to my Photographer Buddies:
I'd like to take a minute to thank my photographer friends Michael Deinlein and C. Michael Stewart for the awesome pics they contribute to Louisville Music News . I've gotten some amazing photos in my day (I'm not too bad!), but these guys are simply better photogr a phers than I am, and what's most important to me– that I can give you people the best pics I can of each event. Credits or who took it doesn't matter to me. Teamwork and friendship. That is the key!
Tool Review
Ok, I'll be honest. I was never really a Tool fan. I just never really got it. The odd timing. The strange vocals. It just was never my thing. But I figured its a good thing to embrace something you don't particularly like, so you can try to see what everyone else see's in them. So I got my tickets and a photopass, and I did my thing. Tool was getting ready to go on in minutes, the crowd was antsy, and I was the first photographer in the photo pit, and I turned around and stared down 20,000 people eagerly waiting to see Tool in action. It was intense. I had a birdseye view of what the band pretty much sees. As the band hit the stage and the crowd roared into life, I patiently waited for Maynard James Keenan to come forward to entertain, but it never happened. It never happened all freaking night. Strange, indeed. Such a successful internationally touring band, and the singer pretty much hid and sang in the darkness for the whole show. I give him full credit though, his vocals sounded just like his CD's. Not many singers can do that, but Maynard did. Such a strange band. In fact, for the whole show, all you could see was the guitarist, bassist, and drummer. As incredibly talented as they all were, I believe the fans deserved something a little more than a few guys onstage playing all night. Yes, the light show and TV screens were trippy AF with psych e delic patterns and all manner of hippy flashback stuff going on, but I was expecting a little more than a good light show with music. Had I been on mushrooms or acid I probably woulda loved it more than I did, but I was sober AF and bewildered that such a big named band could think fans would be happy watching two guys pick their guitars all night and that's it. But pick they did, and they pick those guitars and basses pretty damn well, I must say. Very impressive. Guitarist Adam Jones is a very creative and distinctive player. Very melodic and his style cannot be confused with anyone else's. He makes one guitar sound like a full orchestra. His tone and use of effects is amazing. That was my favorite part of this whole show, watching a master like Mr Jones in action, and wishing I could play like that! He made love to that Les Paul. I was right up front for a bit so I saw him shredding away at that axe. It was killer. Bassist Justin Chancellor looked like an old farmer freshly in from the fields from a hard day at work plowing, but dude was on it! I always admired Tool's basslines and bass riffage. Very prominent bass playing is Tool, and I dare to say, It wouldn't be the same with a lesser bassist. It's a big part of the Tool sound. I noticed that from the very first time I heard the band. Dude's bass tone was huge as well. It don't get much better bass tonewise.
Yes, these two cats were extremely capable at their instruments, but to me, you gotta have a little bit more of a show than watching two guys play for two hours. I heard a few people say they thought it was boring. And I agree a little bit. Maynard shoulda got outta the dark and gave the fans something to see. Hell, he coulda wore the purple sequined panties again, like he did when I saw them for the first time way back in ‘97. But this time it was a mohawk, sunglasses and darkness. Is Maynard hiding something? No. I hear he does this all the time. He is strange and does not do things conventionally. He is different. I can respect that, but you don't wanna piss off your fans. People paid a lot of money to see Tool. They should be able to see and hear the singer of the band! But whatever, the crowd didn't seem too bummed out about it. They ate up every morsel the band threw their way! As if the crowd was starving!
Drummer Danny Carey was phenomenal! It was his birthday so Maynard wished him a great B-day and got the crowd cheering for him. Danny's drum solo was magnificent. He went to town on those drums and messed around with some sound samples and drum effects and stuff. It was truly neat, and the highlight of the show for sure. The band really respects Mr Carey's contributions, that's for sure! I don't know Tool's songs by name, but I lucked out and got a setlist from a buddy!
They played "Enima," "The Pot," "Parabol," "Descending," "Schism," "Invincible," "Jambi," "Intolerance" and "Forty Six and Two," then they had a short intermission and came back firing hard with the badass drum solo, and finished with "Vicarious" and the last song, "Stinkfist." This show was a No Cellphones concert, that was strictly enforced. They weren't playing either, guards were enforcing it, too! Tool meant it. And you know what? It was kinda cool. I respected that! But for the last song "Stinkfist" Maynard told everyone to film away till their little hearts' content! The No Phones rule was lifted at the very end.
It made those cellphone junkies happy for sure. There were 900 videos of "Stinkfist" on Facebook later that night. Ha! The band sounded tight as hell, the playing was excellent, and the vocals were, well, Maynard. Dude is a trip. The psychedelic visuals with the laidback trippy music was very cool. It's too bad I wasn't still into all those trippy hallucinogenic drugs like I was when I was sixteen, or I woulda really had a great time. Yes, it's safe to say as a longtime rock columnist, I decree that Tool is the modern version of Pink Floyd. Subtle, but waaay out there, past Pluto. These guys are on another planet all together. The "I'll do whatever the fuck I want" planet. They didn't even play their biggest hit "Sober!" Odd, but cool. But when you already have the money, why worry? The fans will live.
I had a lot of fun, had a few whiskeys, saw a bunch of peeps I know, and got to hang out with my brother from another mother, Kris Walls, who just recently rejoined my band Year Of The Gun. Welcome back, bro!
Thanks to the wonderful staff at the Yum Center for being so courteous and helpful to yours truly. Looking forward to the next big show!
Rob Zombie at The Palace Review with pics by Michael Deinlein :
I would have gotten pics of ole Rob myself, but that MF is almost impossible to get pics of! Believe me I know. He is constantly moving so all you get is some blurry shit 95% of the time. He is the worst ever to photograph! It's like trying to throw a thumbtack into a coke bottle from 6 feet away! Good luck, MF'er! Wow, what a great night. I had a date with a country chick! We had a ball. I got to meet a real life Joe Dirt clone! Dude was surrounded by people wanting pics! I had to get one. Me with Sir Joseph Dirte.
Rob Zombie, In This Moment, Sevendust plus Coheed Pix
The night started with Rob Zombie-themed beverages like The Living Dead Girl, The Dragula, and my favorite, Sick Bubblegum. It was a fun way to get a buzz on a work night! Those were really good drinks! Another smart move by Mr Zombie! We loved them! Beverages were flowing. We skipped the opening act appetizer and headed to our seats hungry for the main entree – Rob fucking Zombie!
As usual, Rob put on a helluva show: fire, smoke, evil lighting, and movie screens plumb full of Rob's famous sinister artwork and visual imagery. Rob is Rob and he always sounds the same. He did say he was having a bit of trouble with his throat, but who can tell with that mofo. Crystal clear healthy or with raging bronchitis, he still sounds the same! Actually, all the phlegm probably gave him more of a gutteral metal growl than usual. You gotta love the guy though, even though he is not the best singer, he does get an A+ for effort and for his cool artsy fartsy stuff he does to promote the whole Zombie persona. And J5? I love that guitarist. He is a fun, talented, different, creative, and badass guitarist! And those insane lighted up guitars he plays! Badass. I saw him without Rob Zombie at a small club a few years ago and he was incredible doing his solo routine! He can play all kinds of musical styles on those lighted-up guitars. He did a solo that was pretty good, but I've heard him do much better. He kinda had an off night maybe solo-wise. But he was tight as hell otherwise and didn't fall off beat at all. His solo was just a bit lackluster for such an amazing axeman. The rest of the band was flawless and they killed it. I had sooo much fun. My date had sooo much fun. I even got smooches in the parking lot afterward. Woohoo! Then she tried to get me to take my Jeep off-roading, and then that's when it all ended. Me, galavanting my beautiful, pimped-out Jeep Wrangler all up in the mud and such? Nah. I am a city slicker, and I have a city Jeep! I don't wanna get her all dirty and such.
The band was tight. The lightshow was sick. I wish they would have played "Sick Bubblegum" or "American Witch" but they did play all the Zombie classics like "Living Dead Girl," "Well, Everyone's Fucking in a UFO," "Thunderkiss 65/Blitzkrieg Bop" (medley), "Never Gonna Stop," a version of Alice Cooper's "School's Out," "Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Supertown," "Meet The Creeper," "More Human Than Human," a version of The Beatles "Helter Skelter" and, of course, "Dragula."
It was a rip-roaring heavy metal good time, and exactly what I needed to soothe the soul.
Rob said he was sick, but he sounded okay to me. The people seemed to not give a fuck, if that means anything. This crowd was off the hook. What a great show! The next morning at work I was a fucking Zombie myself. But I'm a badass, and endured to make it to In This Moment that very same night. But that is a different story.
Extra Special thanks to my Louisville Palace peeps for always doing us up right here at Louisville Music News. Thank you. Seriously.
In This Moment at the Palace Review with pics by Michael Deinlein:
Aye, aye, ayeeee! What a nutbuster! I had a date with a petite blonde with blue eyes. And again, I had a blast hanging out with friends and stuff. Sevendust started the show with their usual high-energy triumphant sel ves . I still remember meeting those guys before they got big, way back in the Nineties . Very nice guys, especially the drummer Morgan Rose. Sevendust is never bad. I've probably seen them about eight times now, and I've never seen them put on a bad show. I've said all this stuff before, so we'll just go with "they kicked ass again" and let it go at that. No issues, no complaints here. Lajon sounded great as usual. Two thumbs up. They didn't have a lot of time, so they didn't lollygag, they played "Dirty," "Driven," "Waffle," "Denial," ""Enemy," "Black" and "Face To Face." Sevendust's Clint Lowery lives here or has family here, so that made this stop a welcome addition, I'm sure. Props to those guys for always being very classy and world class musicians. It was a short ‘n' sweet set by a damn good band. Founding member bassist Vince Hornsby was tearing that shit up, and doing it so smoothly, you could almost bet he could shave and play at the same time. Morgan is always a pleasure to watch play. His signature beats to me, are what nu-metal drums are made of. He is one of the founders in my eyes. Dude kills. It was now time for a dose of LA sexy metal. In This Moment is badass.
I really like them. I saw them last year at the Palace and it was wicked! This time was pretty much the same thing, but with a more elaborate stage setup that reminded me of Tim Burton meets Bettlejuice. Weird cartoonish, halloweenish-looking buildings and stuff. Of course Maria Brink had her montage of beautiful outfits that she adorns throughout the set. She is one sexy chick. Jesus. That tater.
I always loved Cristina Scabbia as my number one female metal singer, but Maria is hot on her tail, as we speak. It's getting close. The band backing her is a wrecking ball of metal, soaring leads, and super punchy thick rhythms that groove you to the max. The tone they achieve is brutal, and they are showmen on guitar. They trade leads, switch off, solo together, they are all over the place. I didn't think they could play leads well when I first saw them, but I was wrong. They shred. Maria sounded good this time too, but I think I liked the last time better because I was much closer last time. I was pretty far up in the balcony this time, and I couldn't see as well, so that might have hamped my opinion a trifle. It was still a great show no doubt. The place was crowded and everyone was digging it. They played "Salvation,, the Steve Miller Band hit "Fly Like An Eagle," "River Of Fire," "Roots," Natural Born Sinner," "Lay Your Gun Down," "Monster Jam," a cover of Journey's "Don't Stop Believing," complete with Neal Schon-styled riffing with chunkier guitar tone. Her vocal effects during the Journey song was nice. It brought out her voice. She did have a little trouble hitting one of the high notes, I noticed. It's Steve Perry, so who can blame her! She had the courage to attempt it, so that's something! Then they did a Phil Collins tune "In The Air Tonight" and she sexied it out pretty good, the way she moves as she sang. That is one sexy mama. They heavied up the end and made it much better than the original, in my opinion. They finished up the night with "Sick Like Me," "Blood," which is one of my favorites, and "Whore." It was weird they didn't play "Oh Lord," another of my favorites. That is the song that made me start calling her the heavy metal Adele. My favorite moments were "River Of Fire" and "Blood."
It was a great night, until I ran into my horrible, cheating, ex-GF that I dumped a few months back ( it was very awkward), then it turned into an AWESOME night. Seeing me with a younger cuter girl at such a social gathering of Louisville's elite was a reality check from hell, I'm sure, and a life lesson if there ever was one.
Appreciate what you have. And don't fuck over those you supposedly love, for the pettiest of reasons. So ends the long drawn out saga of a woman nicknamed Feet. And so begins the Boubon Girls 2 era.
Great show though. Epic!
Mastodon and Every Time I Die at Iroquois Amphitheater Review with Pics by C. Michael Stewart:
I love this venue. I love outdoor shows. So I had to make this show! First up was Buffalo, New York's Every Time I Die. I gotta be honest, I was expecting nu–age screamo doody metal, but I kinda liked what this hardcore band had going on. At first I wasn't sure. A little too modernish and trendy for my tastes, but the more they played, the more I was digging it. It got better as it went along, b ut the last few songs I was rockin' it. The riffs were better, more technical, and groovier. Vocalist Keith Buckley was not bad as he mixed up things a little bit. Mostly doing screamo growls with some actual singing mixed in at times. B assist Stephen Micciche was a tornado of bass destruction as he moved about the stage. The guitarists had a decent tone but it was kind of muddy, for real. It was kinda indistinguishable to sort out the notes, unless you really tried to hear them. It was a wall of noise though, and it was played very heav ily . All the instruments combined seemed to create one huge locomotive of destruction coming right at you. No nonsense hardcore madness is Every Time I Die, b ut by the end of the set, I had to give those guys their props. Decent metal, but I would look into another type of guitar amp. Something a little cleaner. And more solos would have fit well. But these guys are all about the pummeling rhythms. That wall of sound I mentioned. I'm not a big fan of hardcore, but this wasn't so bad at all.
Next up was Atlanta, Georgia's Mastodon. Such a strange band. When I first heard them years ago, I wasn't impressed. The vocals were terrible. And the music didn't seem to do anything for me. But then I saw them play Louder Than Life, and I realized that this band has to be experienced live. It's a mixture of the odd creative guitar layering, the groovy beats, the awesome guitar soloing, the smooth as silk bass and drum combo, and the TV screen visuals the band provides along with their set. This is a stoner metal band for sure, and they are way up there with me credentials– wise these days after seeing them twice now. This show was much more personal than LTL, as I was much closer and was able to see what the guys were doing so much better this time around. I got to see what the guitarists were doing, and how cool a lot of stuff they were putting out musically. There is a lot going on there, people! These dudes are busy bees on those instruments. Bassist/vocalist Troy Sanders does vocals and basswork like it was nothing. A walk in the park. The bass playing isn't overly busy, he basically just keeps the low end technicality at a minimum, whilst concentrating on vocals. It's not easy for most people, but Troy pulls it off nicely. The guitarwork of Bill Kelliher and Brent Hinds is masterful and creative AF, and clearly define Mastodon's unique sound. This is what makes Mastodon Mastodon! The riff trading, the dueling, the layering, the odd sounding effects used by Brent Hinds, the octave usage by both guys, it's an awesome thing to hear in person. Some people might get bored with such in-depth guitarwork for such a long time, but it is downright impressive. Bill Kelliher plays most of the weirdly layered overtones, while Brent Hinds lays down most of the hard riffs. These guys are creative as hell! I was sitting there watching, and thinking, "Damn, I see why these guys have gotten so big these last few years." The technical ability to be able to play these riffs are pretty demanding. You better be one seriously schooled guitarist to even try to play some of these songs! The vocals? Well, there we have the one weak point of Mastodon. Troy is an okay singer, but not what I call a true doom/stoner groove singer. To me, a stoner groove/doom singer has to have a great singing voice or they just might as well give up and go home. Troy does the bare minimum again on vocals. It's not horrible, but you get a feeling like it could be better. Now if they had someone like Robert Lowe from Solitude Aeturnus, or the original singer from Candlemass, or Lee Dorian from Cathedral, that would be phenomenal. But I think they are happy doing what they do, so fuck it. The guitars make Mastodon though, and truly make up for the lackluster vocals.
It's a progressive metal band to the fullest extent. A heavy metal RUSH if you will. Today's Tom Sawyer, but much more brutal. The drumming of Brann Dailor was badass as he pounded the shit out of his one-of-a-kind sinister clown/evil eye drumset. That was one tripped out and dark drumset. The crowd witnessed some really cool visuals from the TV screens as Mastodon tore shit up. These guys are now the stoner rock/doom kings in my eyes. They played "Bladecatcher," "Black Tongue," "I Am Ahab" and they played the Crack the Skye album in it's entirety! I'm not gonna pretend that I know their music/songs well, because I don't. I couldn't tell you two song titles they play! I am a new fan. But I came around, finally! I was hot, sweaty, tired, and all the overtime at work finally got to me, so I went home to bed without seeing the headliner Coheed and Cambria. I'm cool with that though, as I am not a fan of their music at all. I saw them open for Slipknot in Lexington a decade back and I wasn't impressed. Good musicians I'm sure, but it's just not my style. And if you don't got nothing nice to say, don't say shit at all!
The crowd at Iroquois Ampitheater was two-thirds full and seemed to have a great time on that slightly hot sunny day. I saw a lot of friends and had a great time! I got to see a cool band in Every Time I Die and stoner metal kings Mastodon! A good deal. New blood! I get tired of seeing the same bands over and over. It's good to get some different shit every now and then.
Thanks a bunch to Production Simple for the hookup!

Return Of The Attitude Network:
Black Frank is back! Yes, the man himself. My former boss at 100.5 The Fox. The legend. The man whose silky smooth voice smooth talked his way into many a girl's, er, hearts! A man whose voice has echoed throughout Louisville radio history like no other. The guy who dared to be metal! My old buddy B. Frank. I took a minute to interview the man himself, and here is what the old warhorse had to say.
Eddy: What's up dude! It's been a few. Congrats to being back on the air. I always felt you were done dirty by your former radio company. Douchebags! I'm glad to see you back in your element. The Attitude Network Returns! So tell us how this happened?
Frank: Well, I got the firing squad from commercial radio but I never died. I kept up with all the music and I kept my contacts in the metal scene, both locally and nationally. When I found out that Skinny J was putting together a new version of the legendary Walrus, I contacted him and said, "How about some metal" and he said "How about Saturday nights with you as the host?" I was ready...
Eddy: So what is the format this time around, the hottest metal out there? New stuff, old stuff, weird stuff, local stuff? What are you going to be featuring these days bro?
Frank: I'm not going to mess with something that was successful or try to re–invent the wheel. It's two hours of brutal and intense music, new and classic in all the styles that make up metal. I'll do my best to keep you up on all the loud rock shows that are coming to the area and give away tickets and do exclusive interviews, just like we did before.
Eddy: So I guess you will be bringing Unsigned Xtreme back? For those of you who don't know, that was the segment I used to have on Frank's show, where I featured unsigned local bands of my choosing. It became quite popular and it pissed off many a longtime DJ at 100.5 the Fox. I almost had to beat one of those dudes asses because he was so butthurt about the shows quick success.
Frank: I have absolutely brought back the Unsigned Xtreme feature. It's very important to be able to give the local and regional bands that play brutal and intense music the opportunity to be heard and promoted. I invite any band that wants to be on! the program to send me their stuff today! Send it to blackfrank@lrs102.com
Eddy: So tell us, how do we tune in? What time? What day? And what can we expect from the new improved Attitude Network?
Frank: The Attitude Network is on every Saturday night from 9–11PM and is repeated at 9PM on Wednesdays. If you haven't already done it, download the LRS102.COM app so that you can stream the Walrus live, 24 hours a day. Each weeks show also goes up as a podcast the following week so, if you miss a show, you can hear. it later.
Eddy: Ok. Let's have a real good uncut Black Frank story! I know you have many! Even more than I do! And that's a lot bro. Hell, we've had many great times together my friend. From us bringing on Megadeth together at the Brewery Thunderdome, to partying with Slayer in chi– town, to hanging with Lemmy and Micky Dee at Ozfest, to watching you in an actual boxing match at the legendary Toy Tiger ( that you won!) . I was the worst cornerman in boxing history. Frank was freaking dying and bitching at me about me not having his chair ready in between rounds. Frank got rocked bad, but came back strong and prevailed! What great times.
Frank: There were many memorable times during my 20 years of bringing metal radio to Louisville and both you and I could entertain (or bore) folks with all kinds of crazy stories. F@#k that. It's 2019 and The Attitude Network is back on LRS102.COM. Let's make some new memories and kick some new ass!
So there you have it, you bands send frank some music, or hit him up for requests. I'm sure he will take care of you. Tune in to The Attitude Network!
Zakk Sabbath coming to The Merc on August 18:
I'm not a fan of Zakk Wylde's vocals, but he does Sabbath pretty darn well I must say. I really enjoyed seeing them at Louder Than Life. So you might wanna see this! It rocks!
Bourbon And Beyond 2019:
This sounds like a fun time too. Can my poor body endure two weeks of this is the question? I hope so.

Iron Maiden to play Riverbend on August 15, 2019:
This sounds too good to be true. I'll definitely go to this one. It's on! I always loved seeing shows there too. Never a bad time! Get those tickets, this will sell out!
Tesla Coming to The Palace September 6:
I saw these guys last time they were here, and it was killer! Be sure to see this if you like the band. Great musicians and real cool guys! I did a phone interview with them and they were very humble folks.
Motley Crue "Dirt" Tour Coming September 4 at the Yum:
Yes, they lied. They did not retire. That whole Dirt movie thing got the cash flowing again, and built up interest bigtime. Smart. Those guys are cashing in on that flick! They are coming to town with Machine Gun Kelly, the rapper and actor who starred as Tommy lee in the movie. Rap and Motley Crue? Aye, aye, ayeee. I dunno about all that, but we'll see how it goes.
Corrosion Of Conformity coming to The Merc on July 31:
The kings of Stoner groove metal are coming to Louevil on July 31 with Crowbar. This should be a major sludgefest. Locals Luther or Krosjoint would be perfect for this gig! Hint, hint!
Cannastock 2019 Coming
Cannastock is back and it'll be camping, music, and weed, for those who love that kinda stuff! Cannastock is a music and cannabis awareness festival held in Central to Eastern Kentucky every year. I played two of them. One was great, but the other was kind of a mess because of the location. I hope this year they got things worked out again, because my band is playing again. It's the first week in August in Hustonville, Kentucky . More info to come SOON! Get ready to rock this MF 420 style!
Auditory Carnage — A Death Metal Fest:
A bunch of bands that I can't read the names of. The ones I can make out are Enfold Darkness, Cryptik Hymn, Creature Of Exile, Obelisk, A Forgotten Fury, Stagecoach Inferno, Fleshbore, Volcandra and Kur. This show is on June first at 420 Urban Rd located in Marydell, Kentucky. Outdoor shows rule!!
Judas Priest and Iron Maiden to Tour together?
Please god, let this be. Two of my faves possibly touring together? Awesome. I hope these guys can get over their differences from the past to pull this one off, because I will surely be there! These guys used to not get along so great way back in the day! But money talks, and bullshit walks, so who knows! Keeping fingers crossed. Badass!
Crazy Train Reunion with former guitarist Scott Gravil:
June 22 at Louisville Billiards it's the Crazy Train reunion with former guitarist Scott Gravil. Scott plays Randy Rhoads stuff very very well , so if you are a fan of Randy, do not miss this! I'll be there. The Alice Cooper and Ted Nugent Tributes will also be playing! This should be one for the books! Be there!
