Josh Glover

Name:

Jax Storm

Age:

Forty

Instrument:

Vocals.

I also play bass but not in the band.

Band:Untold Rellik for the past 9 years.

How Long on instrument:

Thirty years as a front man vocalist. Thirty-five years playing bass, but my passion is singing and putting on a great live show!

Equipment:

Rockville Wireless Microphones

Influences:

This is a huge list, but I'll narrow it down. The first time I ever heard Axl Rose sing back in the 80's, I knew I wanted to be able to do that. My all time favorite band is Type O Negative, and my stage performance and character is based off a mix of ICP, Marilyn Manson, and Alice Cooper. (They put on unforgettable performances! That is what I strive to do since anyone can sit at home getting stoned and listen to your music.

You have to give them a reason to want to see you live so give them a “Show”) bands like Pantera, Megadeth, White Zombie, Sepultura, Ozzy, and so on where the bands I spent my high school years and beyond listening to all the time.

My First Gig:

When I was 9 years old in 4th grade. There was a talent show at school, me and a couple of guys learned one song Europe's “Final Countdown.” I played bass on that show. That was truly the night I realized I was hooked on performing and I have never given up on that dream! All these years later Untold Rellik has opened for 27 big time international bands so I can say I have extremely enjoyed the ride and it isn't even close to being over!

Hobbies:

I am also a licensed professional wrestler. I have been fortunate enough to be a three-time heavyweight champ. A three-time Hardcore Champ.

A one time Ky. State Champ. A one time Tag Team Champ. and one of only a few people to ever be a WCCW Grand Slam Champ (which means at some point in my career I have held every title in the company)

Favorite Movies:

Dazed and Confused, Anything with Cheech and Chong, a lot of comedies and horror movies, and most recently Metal Lords since that movie will create the next generation of metal heads and musicians.

Favorite food

:

Cotton Candy, and Seafood

Favorite Place:

On stage with Untold Rellik in front of as big of a crowd as possible. There is no other place in the world that gives me that feeling that I can never get enough of!

Favorite Sports Team:

Football is my favorite sport. UK Wildcats for college. and Tampa Bay Bucs for NFL.

What I listen to nowadays:

The same bands I grew up listening to, as well as Moonspell, Lamb Of God, Rammstein, and a ton of other great bands! I also enjoy listening to and supporting all the amazing bands that are on the Kentucky music scene. Most of them have become family to us over the years!

Coolest Thing I've done:

Besides kicking butt week after week in the wrestling ring, I would have ro say. Getting to open for, meet, and hang out with a bunch of the bands I grew up listening to and going to see in concert over the years. It is a very cool feeling to be on the same show with the same bands that had so much influence on me growing up!

Most Embarrassing Moment:

The time Brad and I had a band called War On Terror and I picked up my microphone off the PA to sing and felt something drop into my mouth as I'm starting the 1st verse. I look over onto thespeaker and see a pile of rat turds so I knew right away what had happened. I somehow still made it through that 1st verse without stopping. Brad and I still laugh about that to this day. He and I have now been in bands together for 20 years.

Bad Habits:

Trying to be a perfectionist and stressing out when I don't think things are going the way they should or as quickly as they should. I also have a really bad habit of being late everywhere I go. So much that my family and friends tell me to be somewhere 30 minutes earlier than everyone else so that I actually show up on the time they needed me to.

My first concert ever:

was Poison back in 1989 on the open up and say ah tour. I was not quite 11 years old.

If I could meet a rockstar who would it be:

I would have to say Marilyn Manson. That's because I am big on stage presence and that dude has loads of it! He stays in character from curtain to curtain and I try really hard to do the same thing. I would love to sit and pick his brain for an evening to get some tips from him.

Who do I love:

Besides my son 1st and foremost. It is definitely the FANS!!! Man the love they have shown us over the last 9 years is freaking AMAZING!!! It may be a long way to the top if you want to rock n roll but man I tell ya those fans have made me enjoy every single mile along the way!! We have a few specific fans I see at almost every single show no matter how far away it is.. (and they aren't dating anyone in the band) That in itself makes me realize I am already living the dream I always hoped for!

A side note to young musicians just starting out:

Have a job besides music, because fame isn't an overnight or one show and you make it thing. I personally am a Funeral Director and Embalmer besides the crazy madman you see on stage and in the ring. ALSO you must be willing to play shows where it's just you and the sound man there or you don't deserve to play the big shows. Those are the best shows to work on your stage presence.

Also don't forget to enjoy the long long ride to the top because those experiences and people you meet along the way are life long priceless memories! One last thing is always be different from everyone else in some way or you will never get noticed. Put on a “show” and be respectful to the fans, bands, the sound man (or you will sound like crap) and the promoters because without all of the above you are nothing.
