Larry Gatlin is Will Rogers in Broadway Series Finale

The Will Rogers Follies, winner of six 1991 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, will be presented at the Kentucky Center for the Arts, June 7-12, and is the final show of the '93-94 PNC Bank Broadway Series season. Repeating his Broadway triumph, Larry Gatlin will portray the famed cowboy philosopher, Will Rogers.

The Will Rogers Follies, which opened on Broadway at the Palace Theatre on May 1, 1991, to rave reviews, is directed and choreographed by Tommy Tune. Mr. Tune received Tony Awards for both his direction and choreography.

Larry Gatlin

Gatlin, a Grammy Award winner, has recorded 24 albums, and the touring group Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers has performed throughout North America since the late '70s.

With 70 movies to his credit, Will Rogers was the top box office attraction in the world, and was the highest paid radio star and the most sought-after speaker of his day.

Performance times for The Will Rogers Follies are 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are available at the Kentucky Center for the Arts box office and all TicketMaster Outlets. Tickets may be charged by phone at 502-584-7777 or toll-free at 1-800-775-7777. Prices range from $31 to $36, depending on performance and seat location. Some grand tier box seats may be available at slightly higher prices. Persons interested in group sales should call 502-584-7469.

The PNC Band Broadway Series is presented by the Louisville Theatrical Association (LTA), a civic organization with a volunteer board of directors. LTA is supported in part by grants from the Fund for the Arts, the Kentucky Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
