Down On The Corner
Rambling into the month of February on a very warm day in January is a special pleasure not often available to folks in the Midwest – but we have it, this time. Unfortunately, the moment is spoiled by the noise of politics.
Ignoring that when possible, I was rather busy in January, recovering from some not-too-significant surgery, so my time to spend on reconstructing back issues was rather constrained, with the result that I only got January and February of 1995 completed. Keyes, Doris N., 88, of Louisville, died on January 4, 2016. In addition to performing as principal pianist for the Louisville Orchestra for many years, Doris was a piano teacher first at Gardencourt and later as Assistant Professor of Piano at the University of Louisville School of Music. She was a member of the Greater Louisville Music Teachers Association, Kentucky Music Teachers Association, and Music Teachers National Association.
