Down On The Corner
Well, after some years of pretty good sized festivals, the first serious flame-out (in a long while) due to weather burns two: the second day of Bourbon and Beyond and the complete Louder Than Life festival. The Wimmer organization, fortunately, is big enough to cope with it (I think). I trust their insurance covers that bulk of the losses. Everybody will have to wait until next year.
In the meantime, October has its own events, most notably The Garvin Gate Festival, October 12 and 13. Also LRS Fest on October 6, down on the waterfront. Aside from those (and the St. James Art Festival), you’ll have to chase down your shows all around the town.
Have a good Halloween, by the way. That’s coming up and the stores are busy selling scary stuff.
