Down On The Corner
I went to see Lake Street Dive at the Brown Theatre on October 25. I had bought tickets immediately after learning they were available but I wasn't fast enough to get the best seats. Still, Row E wasn't too bad. The concert was a rocker and LSD demonstrated that they continue to develop as a performing group, was well as creating some of the more interesting music around.
It was a very good show but for one thing: audience members who persisted in standing up in the Brown, blocking the view of those behind them, to wit, yours truly.
The Brown is an excellent theatre, with good sightlines and sound. It was designed for people to sit in their comfortable seats and enjoy the show. Why on earth anyone would insist on standing up?
Oh, I remember: millennials, who apparently are unable to enjoy a show sitting down, or else have gone to so many festivals that they don't know how to sit and listen to music. This was a mixed audience, promoted by WFPK, so the age distribution was not particularly skewed one way or the other, but a few younger members apparently are unaware that they are blocking someone else's view. They must not have been to cocerned with that. aI guess that's what you call entitlement. The next time, I'm likely to start throwing things.
