Down On The Corner
It’s Labor Day weekend and the end of summer, which, overall hasn’t been too awfully bad. No major festivals have been rained out or flooded; only the occasional show has had to cancel – apparently, the available dollars have not been completely sucked up, due in part, no doubt, to the wide array of shows of different styles. Of course, the three big Wimmer-produced festivals are still ahead, so we have not completely made our way through the overall lineup.
The Old Forester’s Paristown Hall opened on schedule (!) and shows have commenced there. The effect that that venue will have on the remaining venues has yet to be determined, but there seems to be quite a bit of sharing of availability among the top spots. We have to wait for while to see how that turns out, but in the meantime, there’s some music for all tastes, all the time.
Anyway, head on out and see some shows, have a good time, but don’t drink too much alcohol and don’t drive if you are drinking.
