Down On The Corner
By Paul Moffett

The toll that the COVID-19 pandemic on Louisville's music scene continues to increase. Now it seems that the Headliners building is for sale, according to the https://www.courier-journal.com/story/entertainment/music/2020/06/25/headliners-music-hall-louisville-up-sale/3260976001/ Courier Journal. The Production Simple business is not for sale.

As we hit July, news arrives that the Garvin Gate Blues Festival will be cancelled this year.

Okay, I can have a giggle about overdone silliness as well as anybody. Imagine a mix of Southern Culture on The Skids, The Mummies and Run C&W, dressed like size 12 Whiskey Bent Mountain Boys. Add some blues (John Lee Hooker, Albert King, plus ZZ Top). Blend all that into a solid country-rock trio show with an hyped-up advertising copy writer for a songwriter, all tagged as Grandaddy Shortleg; Release into the wild, wild internet as Firewater Sessions Vol. 1.

Check out "Grandma Got Hooked On Codiene" here:

It's a sing-along giggle.

Available on all the usual streaming services.

Oh, yes, they're from around these parts. Somewhere.
