Down On The Corner

I repeat from my last column: 2020 is past. Now to await the passage of the COVID-19 pandemic. Please note that it is not over and is not likely to be over for some time, so mind the scientists: practice social distancing, wear a mask and take the vaccine when it's available. We'd just as soon not have another player go down.

Also, avoid bars and clubs for now. Better to be inconvenienced than deceased.

Walls,Charles Miller "Music Man,"72, of Shepherdsville, formerly of Springfield, passed away Monday, March 30, 2020, at Baptist Health in Louisville. Charlie was well known for his vast knowledge of sound technology, having operated a music recording studio for 40 years. He and his wife, Sandra owned and operated the former Blue Grass Entertainment and Expo Center in Bardstown.

Robert W. "Bob" Mitchell, 83, died on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in Louisville, KY. loved music, played guitar, wrote reviews for "Bluegrass Now," "Bluegrass Music Profiles," and Louisville Music News." He was a disc jockey and a four-time nominee for "Bluegrass DJ of the Year". His program, "Best of Bluegrass", was popular on WFPK.

Landenwich,Douglas Joseph, 66, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021. A lifelong musician, he was drummer in the Louisville band the Thunderbirds, making an album and securing a spot on LRS radio.
